My Designer Statement

As a designer, my primary motivation is to inspire growth by initiating new thought via my works. I craft my design around the stories of others who pursue their journey and seek to empower them towards a more aspirational state. At the core of my process exists a desire to practice an empathetic mindset and to catalyze self-actualized boons.

I am mindful of the power of design that often instigates reflective, behavioral, and visceral actions in it’s participants. I seek to tap deeply into emotion, while ensuring a beacon successfully guides one to their journey’s next waypoint. Through this practice, I apply validated and experimental design methods, which, when sensitively applied, are inherently understood and leveraged to draw the engaged into a continually deeper context.

Stories serve us as the universal method of deciphering reality. They are the interface to our identity where life is filled with designed value structures, objects, and moments. We tap into our library of narratives to navigate through the most simple to the most complex interactions.

The opportunity to design for others allows me to explore life holistically…ultimately leading to greater understandings of self and the world around me. Design provides, to me, the means for each design group to commit ourselves to the betterment of causes other than our own, while reaching a more aspirational state for ourselves.
